Rawan Osman is a Syrian-Lebanese/German activist advocating peace with Israel. She grew up in Syria and Lebanon, where she was taught to hate Jews and fear Israel. However, after moving to France, a chance encounter shattered everything she thought she knew. Over time, Rawan unlearned the lies she was raised with and found the courage to speak out against Islamist extremism. Rawan has served on the PeaceComms Executive Committee, speaks for SharakaNGO, and studies Islamic and Jewish Studies at Heidelberg University. Osman founded ArabsAsk and chairs PostOctober7, documenting persecution of pro-Israel Arab activists and organizing Abraham Accords speaking tours. Rawan is featured in the documentary film, Tragic Awakening: A New Look at the Oldest Hatered. This film challenges how we think about Jew-hatred, and the nature of the Jews. Rawan also spoke at the United Nations in March of 2024 and shared with the council what she described as the failures of some Middle Eastern countries to support the people in Gaza and to fight against Hamas and Hezbollah. Rawan continuously uses her voice and platform to fight for peace in the region, for the Jewish people, and for Israel’s right to exist.
