Chair of Cobb County Board of Elections, Tori Silas, embodies integrity, morals, and values of true leadership. She fiercely stood up against antisemitic rhetoric during a Cobb County meeting. When a person in the room used hate speech by loudly using the words “Heil Hitler” during the meeting, Silas immediately took the courageous stance to say, “that is extremely unacceptable. If you are proud enough to say it out loud, then stand behind what you said and remove yourself from the room now, please.” However, no one stood up to leave, and the board members could not identify the speaker. After a few minutes of deliberation, the board to action and immediately adjourned the meeting. Chair Tori Silas made it extremely clear that antisemitism will not be tolerated in her Cobb County Boards of Elections meeting space.
