In July 2025, Tinashe Kajese-Bolden, Artistic Director of the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA, addressed the decision of the Alliance Theatre and The Atlanta Opera to co-produce a new staging of Fiddler on the Roof. She shared that the choice was intentional, stating, “We are overjoyed to share this vibrant production with Atlanta that continually fosters community and hope even in the most trying of times.” Across continents and generations, Fiddler on the Roof has endured as a work that speaks to the human spirit. Presenting this production at such a moment is an act of courage as it is using art to confront hatred in a time of rising antisemitism and deep division.
