As President and CEO of the A.D. King Foundation, Dr. Babs has actively supported Israel this past year. He hosted an event with influential African-American leaders, represented officials, and entrepreneurs at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs including the Israeli Consulate visitor, Emi Palmor, Former Director General of the Ministry of Justice of Israel. During the recent 15th Annual A.D. King Foundation Youth Empowerment Gala and Awards, Dr. Babs invited Consul General, Anat Sultan-Dadon, to provide remarks about Israel’s commitment to building bridges by promoting non-violent strategies and solutions in regional conflicts. During the event, he presented the Consul General with the Global Bridge Builder for Peace Award. For an audience of 250 leaders of civil rights activists, elected officials, academic professionals, and students, this was an opportunity to see Israel in a different and more positive light than what many people have been exposed to. Dr. Babs felt strongly about including Israel as part of this event and we recognize that it required courage and moral clarity.
