Judge Lisa Branch, U.S. Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit, is not Jewish, but she has demonstrated extraordinary support for the Jewish community and spoken forcefully against antisemitism, particularly on college campuses. Following October 7, she began wearing a Star of David necklace, explaining, “If they are coming for the Jews, they are coming for me too.” Judge Branch was also a lead signatory on a letter from thirteen federal judges stating that they would not hire law clerks from Columbia Law School in response to the university’s handling of antisemitism and the 2024 campus encampments. Her courage and moral clarity reflect a deep commitment to standing with the Jewish people and protecting them from hatred and intimidation.
